OTTAWA VICTIM SERVICES
When crime or tragedy happens, we’re here for you.
Our not-for-profit organization has been supporting people in the Ottawa community since 1998. We listen. We care. We help you find a way forward.
Is it an emergency?
We can’t respond to emergency calls. Call 911 if someone’s life is in immediate danger or a crime is happening right now. Otherwise, call a crisis line to speak to someone right away.
“Thank you so much for all your support over the last 5 months. It truly means more to our family than you will ever know.”

We have experience, both professional and lived.
We’re survivors, frontline workers, researchers, experts, and diverse community members. We truly understand what our clients are going through, from all angles.
We’re part of the Ottawa community.
OVS is run by passionate people who live in (and love) the Ottawa region. We train local volunteers and partner with local groups, organizations and government.
Everyone is welcome and safe with us.
We’re sensitive to cultural backgrounds and committed to equity, diversity and inclusion. We also share knowledge and campaign to end hate and racism.
“Being able to assure people that they are not alone in some of their darkest times will always be my favorite part of volunteering with Ottawa Victim Services since making tangible and front line change is as close to making a difference as you can get. I would urge every volunteer to really reflect on what a privilege it is to be in a position to support those who need our help and be extremely proud of the work you do on each and every call.”
April Volunteer and Team leader since 2019
