Sandy Wooley joined the OVS Board of Directors in October 2022. Sandy recently retired from her position as Executive Director of the Nepean, Rideau, and Osgoode Community Resource Centre (NROCRC) serving from 2008 to September 2020. While at NROCRC Sandy led a team of over 50 full and part time professionals and hundreds of volunteers. The NROCRC team strengthened the community by providing services such as community development, counselling, newcomer support, sports and recreation, social programming for children, youth and seniors, Elder Abuse Prevention, housing support, and much more to thousands of Ottawa residents annually.

She is interested in OVS because she values the organization’s mission and accomplishments and would like to continue to give back to the community in her retirement. Sandy brings experience working with vulnerable populations, managing funding from local, municipal, provincial, and federal funding sources, as well as her knowledge of board governance to the OVS Board of Directors.

A graduate in Education (McGill University) and Business Administration (Carleton University), Sandy founded and led the creation and operations of her own business for over ten years, she has gained and applied first-hand experience in leadership, operations, innovation, and strategy.

Sandy has two adult children and enjoys many activities in retirement. These include travel, swimming, running, skiing, mountain biking, and reading.
